A Little Something Extra

There are so many special elements that you can incorporate into your big day to make it your own. One of my favorites is a wedding dress label that can be sewn into your beautiful gown. There are so many different ways to design these whether it be your new initials and your wedding date or a special message remembering someone who may have passed, the opportunities are endless. A lot of girls get it sewn in blue so that it can also be used as their something blue. There are tons of shops on ETSY that design these labels, and they are all beautiful and very reasonably priced. Enjoy!

Postcard Guest Book

I must give credit where credit is due, so I want to give a big shout out to my cousin Ashely who shared this idea with me while we were on vacay at the beach! Couples are always asking me for clever ideas for a guest book that isn't your typical sign in book, and while their are TONS of ideas out there I had never heard of this cute one. Creating a postcard guest book is easy. You provide postcards that are already addressed to the happy couple so that your guests can write them a special message or words of advice. Then your guests put the completed postcards into a basket, a jar, or something like that. At the end of the night someone responsible (maybe your mom, dad, aunt, etc...) will take them and mail one postcard to the couple daily or weekly whatever you choose, so you have a special little something coming in the mail for you to look forward to. You can then either take the postcards and create your own book or think of a clever way to save them! I just thought that this was different, cute, and fun to continue to get reminders from your big day! What are you doing or what have you done for your guest book?

Welcome to I Do Details Michelle and John!

Words can't explain how excited I am to announce that Michelle (my wonderful assistant and BF) is ENGAGED!!! It happened last week and I am so excited! We have already begun planning and it is going to be a wonderful day that really showcases the love that John and Michelle share with one another.
Michelle had plans to meet up with her sister and another girlfriend for drinks at Vivace. There was a knock on the door and when she opened the door, John was there with a newspaper tucked under his arm. That's not totally unusual because Michelle loves to read USA Today (in her eyes it's totally the People magazine of newspapers) and he'll pick one up for her every now and then and drop it off.

So she sees him and thinks he just came by to say "hi" and drop off the paper. He opens the paper up to show her and it says "Today's the big day! Will Michelle Payne Say Yes?" She started SCREAMING and shrieking and then he got down on one knee and asked if she would marry him and of course she said YES! She asked him if her family knew and then he told her that her sister Kristen was waiting outside the door to capture it all on camera! She came in and they had champagne and took a million photos while she just tried to take it all in ...
Her sister and John suggested that they go down to Vivace to celebrate. As she walked into Vivace John's mom immediately comes up to her and as she was hugging her, she saw all of her friends,her friends hubbies, his friends, and her family, it was AMAZING. He had organized for everyone to be there to celebrate! What a proposal!
Michelle and John are most looking forward to waking up next to each other everyday and eventually starting a family!
Congrats Michelle and John, I can't wait for your big day!!

I am getting ready to host a big Fourth of July party for my family at the beach and I am always looking for festive ideas to incorporate into the party! I can't wait to share with you everything that we are doing and pics, but it will have to be after the Fourth because I want to keep it a surprise for the fam! Riggins Birthday Party

Hot Dog, Riggin's is one! We had a hot dog bar!

A year ago if you told one of my friends that I would have a dog, they would most likely start laughing! You see, I grew up scared of dogs and would ring the doorbell when I was babysitting just hoping that I wouldn't hear a dog bark. A year ago my husband and I drove to Raleigh to "just look" at puppies and I fell in love with this adorable golden retriever puppy who we named Riggins. After having Riggins for this past year, I can't imagine my life without him, and I think that I have turned into that person who is obsessed with their dog...hahaha! So with that being said, I decided to have a little birthday party for him (which was more of an excuse to have a BBQ with our friends)! Here are some pictures from our fun afternoon!

I Do Details Events is super excited to welcome Michelle to the team! Michelle is the best assistant ever and I couldn't do these events without her! After our most recent event, we chatted about Michelle blogging about her experience from a different perspective. So with no further adieu here is her blog post...enjoy!
Day One as an I Do Details Assistant:

The day began with Kate and I praying that we’d beat the race traffic while heading to Lake Norman for Jennifer and Ryan’s big day. Kate is a stickler for being on time, so we left with plenty of time to spare! And good thing too, as we definitely hit some traffic and managed to arrive right on time (number one awesome thing about Kate: her punctuality).
The second we stepped out of the car at the lake, I knew I was in trouble. The Charlotte humidity hit me like a sledge hammer as the first beads of sweat dripped down my face…and it was only 1:00 p.m. I had five more hours of set-up to get through. Luckily, Jennifer has amazing parents and they have amazing friends, who made sure we always had water and a cool place to change before the wedding (number two awesome thing about Kate: she knows I’m heat-challenged).
I was in charge of the groomsmen and thought it would be an easy job! It was…until one of the groomsmen didn’t come out of the bathroom until 10 seconds before he was due to walk down the aisle! I had rounded every one of those groomsmen up, but he slipped out of line without my knowledge. Luckily, he made it on time…crisis averted.
I felt especially important when it was time to cut the cake and for the Father of the Bride to give his toast. As the FOB geared up for his big moment, we suddenly realized that he had no microphone. I immediately tried to sprint towards the stage, but was thwarted by a mass of 200 people gathering around the cake. After saying “Excuse me, pardon me” at least 100 times, I made it…just in time for one of the band members to tell me he didn’t think the cordless mike would work at the back of the tent. It was a risk I had to take…and luckily, the mike worked perfectly (number three awesome thing about Kate: she appreciates my take-charge attitude that helped in this situation).
One thing about Kate is that she NEVER complains about her job as a wedding planner because she absolutely LOVES it. Whenever I ask her about the weddings, she goes into great detail to describe the various elements of the day (all the amazing decorative details, a potential mishap prevented by Ms. I Do Details herself, or the way a FOB included her in his toast). She has never once explained that you will lose all feeling in your feet, that your pedicure is bound to get chipped, or that when you tell the groomsmen not to lock their knees, you should remind yourself of that fact too. However, Kate did prepare me for the chills you get when you watch the groom as he sees his bride for the first time and the elation you experience after you have helped make a couple’s dream wedding come true!

Welcome to I Do Details Amanda and Michael!!

I am so excited to welcome Amanda and Michael to the I Do Details family! Amanda and Michael met through Lindsay and Brandon (yay for "I Do Details" couples!) and started dating in the summer of 2008.
This past March, Amanda was given a little “to-do” list on a Friday afternoon, which Michael claimed was for her birthday. She was instructed to follow directions on the letter, stick to the timeline, and under no circumstances return home. At 3:00 she left work to head to the mall, where she was to choose a cocktail dress (he had Lindsay go earlier in the week to pick out 3 dresses for her, and she got to pick one of them to wear that evening) and was treated to a mani/pedi. After getting her nails done, she was told that she was allowed to come back home, and found a trail of rose petals leading to the door, where Amanda found Michael in a suit and tie standing amidst a million rose petals and candles. It was AWESOME!!!
After she said yes, the first thing she wanted to do was take a picture of the scene when he informed her that they were being filmed!!! He had gotten a video camera to document the purchase of the ring, the ‘talk’ with my father, and the proposal! SO PRECIOUS! Amanda's parents live less than 10 minutes from them so Michael set up a town car, and they headed over to tell her mother in person. Then they had dinner downtown just the two of them. The entire evening was PERFECT- the best night of her life!!!! I mean what an amazing proposal!!!
Amanda and Michael are most excited about sharing the rest of their lives together, and having unconditional love and commitment to each other. They are really looking forward to becoming "The Cardani's" and starting their own family.
I am so excited for their big day in April at The Ritz Carlton Uptown!

Laura and Jeff's AMAZING Save the Date!

As soon as I clicked on the link and began watching, I got so excited for their big day in October! You can just tell how in love they are, and what a creative save the date! Wine Tasting Party

This past weekend some of my friends and I had an absolute blast doing a mini wine tasting party! This was our first one and as we were doing it I thought about how much fun it would be for a shower or a co-ed engagement party! You could have guests bring gifts to help the couple entertain or bring a second bottle of wine to help the couple start their collection.
Here is how we did it:

Every couple brought a $20 or less bottle of red wine.
The couple put's it in a numbered bag and tie's it shut.
Place tasting cups next to each bottle of wine.

The table is ready for the tasting to begin!
Score cards are on table with numbers, notes, and a place to rank the wine.
Oyster crackers in little cups to help cleanse your palate.

Easter Bunny Cupcakes

It is always fun to add a little something special to your holiday table. Check out this adorable recipe from Family Fun for Easter Bunny cupcakes! I have made these before and have to say they take some time to do, but they are super cute! Helpful hints: I skipped the coconut and just used white frosting. I also cut mini marshmallows in half instead of the big ones and used chocolate sprinkles for the whiskers. Enjoy!

Hotel Sierra

Yesterday I had the privilege of meeting with Sarah from the new Hotel Sierra in Charlotte! It is beautiful! From the moment that you walk in you feel the swanky, modern vibe and it is carried out in the bar and the guest suites. Their event level has a great event space, soft seating lounge area, and their rooftop pool even has a clear dance floor that can be rented to cover the pool which would be great for a cocktail party, reception or even ceremony. Be sure to check out the new Hotel Sierra when you are Uptown!

Magnet save the dates!

My friends are the greatest, and they are always looking out for me! That is why I was so excited when a friend of mine emailed me some adorable pictures from a trip that her and her fiance were on. She knows that I am always looking for inspiration, and she thought that this picture would provide some and I couldn't agree more. After working on a couple of outdoor weddings this year, I love the idea of mason jars, candles, tea lights, big sticks, fabric, and lace, just to name a few! When I got this picture it immediately made me think of all of those things! It also made me think of an invite that I had seen on Minted, and took me back to one of my favorite elegant but yet rustic weddings of a good friend of mine. Adorable Program Idea!

When looking for some inspiration, I came across this adorable Bridal Party Cootie Catcher from Darling Girl Paper. Sometimes clients just don't want to do the traditional program, so instead they want other options. I thought that these are super cute and fun! It helps guests to learn a little bit more about you while they are waiting for you to walk down the aisle! I think that these are programs that your guests surely won't throw away at the end of the ceremony!

Ummm...I just got my new West Elm catalog and I am in L.O.V.E with so many things!!! While I love doing my daily stalking of wedding blogs, I also love to search other magazines and websites for inspiration. When perusing through the pages of the catalog I found myself getting so excited about so many things that I felt as though I needed to share them with you! So let's get started! I think that the glass vases featured in photo a are super cool! You can put all sorts of flowers or votives and hang them over dinner tables, specialty tables, windows, the opportunities are endless. The rugs in b and c would be awesome in your soft seating area and you could pick up the designs in the rugs and incorporate them throughout your wedding stationary. The pillows in d and e would also be perfect for your soft seating area and tossing them on a couch or ottoman. Vanessa and John

John and Vanessa met on a chilly fall afternoon on October 5th, 2008 at a mutual friends house. Upon meeting, the two immediately felt a strong attraction for one another and thus, blossomed into a forever standing relationship. John, a teacher; Vanessa, an Insurance Underwriter at the time, courted each other for the next two years, leading each other through amazing experiences and memorable adventures. It wasn't until the year 2010 when the two had entered in the conversation of marriage and the relationship took its next step. In the fall of 2010, John bought an engagement ring without Vanessa's knowledge, looking to surprise her in a way that uniquely demonstrated the type of relationship they had. He took her to his parents for the Christmas holiday, and then on to Lake Placid, NY for what she thought would be two days of skiing and shopping in the Olympic Village. On December 26th, the inseparable pair decided to try their luck at ice skating on the very ice Olympians had speed skated on in the 1980 Olympics. It was here where John dropped to his knee and asked Vanessa for her hand in Matrimony. It is with great excitement that on July 30th, 2011, John and Vanessa will become husband and wife, leading each other on a new set of memories and adventures in the many years ahead.

I went to college at Elon University, and was so blessed to make the most AMAZING friends. I was also fortunate to move to Charlotte with 10 of them after school! Sara and Ryan met in high school through her sister awhile back. Ryan took Sara out to dinner to celebrate being together for 8 years. They were waiting on their reservations, so they went over to Freedom Park where he popped the question! She was so excited that she said 'okay' instead of yes! They are looking forward to continuing to share life's little moments, and traveling and taking on the world together as best friends!
I Do Details is so excited to be a part of their big day in October at Byron's South End!

Mary Jo's Fabric Store

My mom came to Charlotte this past weekend for a visit and was dying to go check out this fabric store! So off we went to Mary Jo's in Gastonia not knowing at all what to expect. When we pulled up, it was packed and as we walked through the doors, we could see why. There was tons and tons of fabric and I mean TONS of fabric. Ranging from fleece to more modern threads to designer fabric. Of course as we are looking through all of the rows of fabric, so many ideas are running through my head! There are so many ways to incorporate fabric into your event, whether it be by making custom linens, pillows, draping, fabric boards whatever your little heart desires! Extravaganza!

Yesterday I had an awesome meeting with Stephanie from Extravaganza. Extravaganza has two warehouses and it is one of the largest prop shops in the Southeast. 90% of their warehouse is themed props, however a good 75% or more of their business is weddings! They can be as hands on or off as you would like them to be for your event. While they have a warehouse they also have an event depot that can be rented out for your event! I went there to chat about draping for a client's wedding, and Stephanie had great advice and ideas and they really know their venue's! As we all know, one of the growing trends at weddings is the infamous photo booth! They are always such a blast and people LOVE them! Some people make their own photo booths, while others prefer to hire a company. Either way, they are always a hit! Having a prop box adds something extra! Sometimes they come with a prop box while other times the couple makes their own. While looking on ETSY, I found this adorable set of photo booth props on a stick from Little Retreats. Welcome to I Do Details Laura and Jeff!

I am so excited to begin working with Laura and Jeff to plan their big day!
Jeff and Laura had gone away for a long weekend in the beginning of August to Newport, Rhode Island. They were watching the sunset from some rocks looking out over the water at Beavertail State Park. A sailboat was passing by in front of the sunset (which was apparently his cue), and as it sailed off he said, "This is a perfect place, except to try to go down on one knee..." He did though (and didn't drop the ring!), and the rest is history!

They are most looking forward to seeing each other as their lifetime partner and companion, being there for each other through career ambitions, starting a family, and just fun life endeavors. It will be great to embark into the future with someone always by your side...
I can't wait for their big day at The Mint Museum Uptown in October!

As I was flipping through the pages in my newest Nordstrom catalog, I came across an insert entitled The Wedding Suite! Of course I had to see what was inside! They have accessories for the bride, bridesmaids, and groomsmen. There are beautiful suggestions for your honeymoon wardrobe and suggestions for bridesmaid dresses. My dear friend's Cherie and Matt got married this summer in New York, and their wedding was amazing! It had so many personal touches and one of those, was their first dance. They danced to “Home” by Edward Sharpe and The Magnificent Zero’s and you could just see the love between them as they were singing and dancing along. When I saw this video of this adorable father-daughter duo, it gave me chills! I had to share it with you, what a wonderful first dance song!

Lindsay and Brandon!

From the first meeting with Lindsay and Brandon, I knew we hit it off! I am so excited for their big day at The Mint Museum Uptown in August, it is going to be an absolute blast! Meet this adorable couple!
Lindsay and Brandon were getting ready to head to dinner for their "3 year" anniversary and Brandon surprised her with a new digital camera for their upcoming trip to Maui. They set it on the self timer to test out the new cam and take a picture together before heading out to dinner. After the pic was taken, she said her standard line, "Do we look cute?" and went to view the pics. As she scanned through the 2 photos, there was a photo of a sign that said "Will you marry me?!". As she turned to look at Brandon, he was down on one knee with the ring and he popped the question! It was perfect! Then, two days later they were off to Maui for a week to celebrate their engagement!

They can not wait to see what the future holds for them! They look forward to experiencing whatever life throws at them as a couple and to having the best time ever together, forever!
I am so excited to start the design and planning! Cheers to you two!

I am so excited to welcome Brooke and Kyle to I Do Details! Their wedding in June is going to be beautiful and I can't wait to continue all of the planning and design!
Brooke and Kyle got in engaged in Charleston, SC. Kyle planned a surprise trip where he booked a weekend getaway to the Ansonborough Inn which is a really cute bed and breakfast. They had a picnic on the Battery and before they ate he got down on one knee and proposed!!! Brooke was so excited she didn't end up eating her food! The rest of the weekend was amazing with wine tasting, shopping and fabulous meals!!
What Brooke and Kyle look forward to the most is enjoying life's special moments, successes, challenges and experiences not only together, but with someone they truly love.

Secret Santa Holiday Party!

Every year my girlfriends and I get together and have a Secret Santa party. This year we decided to spice it up a little bit and do a a dinner party as well! I decided to host and wanted to make it a special and fun evening for all of us girls! After meeting with Jodi from Connie Duglin Linens, my color scheme came into play which was a silver and a deep wine color. My inspiration went from there. Anna from Nuage Mulberry did the beautiful menu cards as well as place cards which really added an elegant touch to everyone's place setting and Karisa from Nectar Floral Design did the AMAZING flowers that were on the table. We hung crystals from the ceiling which added an extra sparkle to the table and played in nicely with all of the candlelight and glassware. Some of the favorites from the evening was the food, gift exchange, company and friendship, and of course the hot chocolate bar to go! We all had a blast and I wanted to share some pictures from the evening!

I was recently in DC for an Erin McDermott trunk show and while Erin and I were shopping through Georgetown, I came across my new favorite thing! The Twistband Hair Tie! Erin had sold them in a boutique that she once worked in, and she highly recommend it, so I thought that I would give it a try. I would like to welcome Kristin and Edwin to the I Do Details Family!
They met because Edwin was friends with Kristin's brother and ended up being roommates with him and 2 other guys. They had many mutual friends, and then became friends themselves. Eventually they realized that they really liked each other and started dating.

Edwin took her to the SunDial Restaurant in Atlanta where they shared a wonderful conversation about their future, and after dinner he proposed!
They are looking forward to seeing what God has in store for them as a married couple, and the comfort of knowing the constant companionship. They are also really looking forward to starting a family!

Closet Edit!

One of my presents from my adorable husband for my birthday was a closet edit session with Melissa Lamkin! I was so excited and didn't quite know what to expect, considering my closet is kind of a mess :) Needless to say, I am OBSESSED with my new closet and it has made my life so much easier! Everything is super organized and I was able to pass on some things that I just didn't need anymore! Melissa did a wonderful job of going through things with me and helping me piece together outfits that I never would have thought of piecing together! So if you haven't asked for anything for the holiday season, I would strongly suggest a session with Melissa!

Thanksgiving Cookie Recipe!

Looking for a great cookie recipe for the holiday season, well look no further! These pumpkin chocolate chip cookies are always a crowd pleaser!
1 cup pumpkin
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup oil
1 egg
2 cups of flour
2 t baking powder
1 t cinnamon
1/2 t salt
1 t milk
1 cup of chocolate chips
1 t vanilla
Mix altogether and bake on 350 for 8-12 minutes. The cookies are kind of cake like, so be careful not to overcook!

On Thursday night I was able to go to the Marriott Center City for a fun evening of networking with some other planners in Charlotte. Laura and Kristin from the Marriott gave us a fabulous tour of their amazing hotel, where the space is awesome! They have a cigar bar as well as a restaurant called Savannah Red's, where we were able to enjoy the fabulous food! We were able to meet the chef, who creates a fresh menu and is always changing things around due to the fact that they get their vegetables from local farmers! Marriott Center City offers many unique and special elements for any event! It was such a fun night and I highly recommend checking it out!

Wish Upon A Wedding~ The Carolinas Blissful Wishes Ball

On Friday night I was able to attend a wonderful event, The Carolinas Blissful Wishes Ball for a wonderful organization called Wish Upon a Wedding! It was held at The Ritz Carlton where we had a delicious meal and tons of fun! There were lots of wonderful people from the industry there and it was great to catch up with them as well as meet some new people. The president of Wish Upon a Wedding Sasha Souza flew in to speak at the event and the stories of wishes that have already been granted really touched the heart. Some of my favorite parts of the evening were the silent auction, the photo booth from Shutterbooth which was a blast, and dancing the night away with two great bands, The Fabulous Kays and The Right to Party Band! Many thanks to the Wish Upon a Wedding team and all of the fabulous vendors that made this night so special!

Meet Gean & Joe!

I first met Gean and Joe at the Charlotte Wedding Connection and just from a few short moments, you could tell how in love they were with one another! When I got the opportunity to meet with them, I realized just how in love they are and how excited they are to start this next step of their life together!
They were first introduced to one another through Gean's best friend, Deanna. They initially crossed paths four years ago, while walking down the street in front of RiRa's. Two years after their initial meeting they were brought back together for a "girls" dinner at Cantina. Her friends had planned a dinner/movie night and Deanna ended up inviting Joe. After that dinner, Joe pestered Deanna for several weeks for her contact information. Deanna gave into Joe's persistence and finally gave him her number. They talked and texted daily, and on March 25, 2008 they had their first date, and have been inseparable ever since.

On March 19, 2010, they were headed down to Atlanta for a quick weekend getaway. Joe recommended that they go out for a nice dinner at the Sun Dial Restaurant, a tri-level dining complex featuring a revolving restaurant, a rotating cocktail lounge and an observatory offering a 360-degree panorama of the Atlanta skyline. They enjoyed a great meal, and following dinner they took a stroll around the restaurant to check out the amazing view. As they were gazing out at the skyline, they began reminiscing about their relationship and how wonderful their time together has been. Joe then got down on one knee to propose, and out of excitement, she shouted, "I do!"
They are so excited about their upcoming wedding and cannot wait to start their journey together, and I Do Details Events is excited to be a part of their big day!

Jennifer & Ryan

I am so excited to begin working with the newest clients to I Do Details Events, Jennifer and Ryan!
Ryan and Jennifer met at Taco Mac in Atlanta Ga. They were both there for dinner and he was actually sitting with someone she knew so they were introduced. They were practically inseparable for the rest of the night. After they kept running into each other out, he finally asked her out to a hockey game, and they have been together ever since. Even though Ryan and Jennifer both went to Clemson at the same time and have tons of mutual friends they never met until that night at Taco Mac.

A little over two and a half years later Ryan and Jennifer were driving back to Clemson for the home opening football game and he said he needed to go the field "to take pictures" for work, she reluctantly fell for it and once they got out of the car he got down on one knee and proposed at "the rock" (Clemson tradition). She was completely shocked and said "of course"!
Their wedding is going to be beautiful and tons of fun! I am looking forward to May! Congrats Jennifer and Ryan!

I have blogged about Anna from Nuage Mulberry before, but I just can't stop tell you how talented she really is! I met with her to tell her my vision for my mock table at the bridal show and asked her to do my menu cards, place cards, table number, and the tags for the Wowee Pops! When I got the proofs I was so excited because her design was exactly what I wanted! Everything looked beautiful and it all came together on the table perfectly! This Sunday I was a part of the Charlotte Wedding Connection Bridal Show. It was great meeting lots of wonderful brides and I look forward to beginning to work with some of them! I did a mock table in my booth and it couldn't have been done with out the talents of some of the wonderful vendors in Charlotte. So I thought that I would spotlight a different vendor each day who helped to make my table sparkle!
I used Nectar for my floral arrangement. Karisa is super talented and sweet and I really enjoyed meeting her through this process. Her adorable floral shop is located on N Davidson and her arrangements and ideas are awesome! I look forward to using her in the future!

The Mint Museum Uptown!

Last night I had the privilege of getting a sneak peak of the AMAZING new Mint Museum Uptown, and when I say AMAZING I mean AMAZING space!! The various options that The Mint Museum offers for an event are so neat and beautiful all at the same time. We were fortunate to be in The Mattye and Marc Silverman Grand Room and Trustees Terrace that was beautifully uplighted and had some very trendy lounge areas, while chatting and tasting delicious foods from some of the wonderful caterers that we have here in Charlotte. The opportunities are endless for what you can do there and I am so excited to have such a wonderful new venue in the Uptown area. Be sure to check it out as it opens to the public this weekend!

I am always looking for ways to spruce up a package or a little gift for an event! I came across Happy Tape, which I think is the perfect solution for that little something extra! Happy Tape is Japanese masking tape that is made out of washi paper and comes in all sorts of colors and patterns! Last week Melissa Lamkin invited some friends and I to try out a delicious new restaurant in Charlotte called 15 North! We had the wonderful opportunity to try various dishes that were all special and unique in their own tasteful way! Chef Brett McKee and Steve Palmer bring their culinary talents to Montford Drive where 15 North is now open! I strongly suggest you check it out and all of their wonderful dishes! Some of our favorites that we tried were the mussels, deviled eggs, burger, pork chops, and the steak and eggs! I can’t wait to go back and try some other fabulous dishes!

Supply Soiree

Michelle and I hosted the First Annual Supply Soiree on Saturday night and it was a huge hit! We hit the rooftop of the Metropolitan for desserts and drinks while supporting a great cause. Every guest was asked to bring school supplies to support two local schools in the Charlotte area! We were overwhelmed with the generosity of our friends. As we were dividing up supplies yesterday we were speechless with everything that people had donated! We are both so lucky to have such wonderful friends and family, and want to thank them for coming out and supporting us! Here are some pics from the evening! Enjoy!

Meet Jessica and John!

John and Jessica met in Charleston, SC at King Street Grill on a Saturday afternoon in March of 2008. Jessica and a friend of hers were probably there for less than five minutes when in walks John. She immediately thought he was handsome, despite his bright yellow Maryland t-shirt, which is still to-date her least favorite shirt he owns. The only seat available was the seat right in front of her, next to their mutual friend Jeremy. Jeremy introduced them and they talked for what seemed to be the entire time they were there. In that time they realized they had been living less than a block away from each other for the last two years. When Jessica and her friend were about to leave he asked if he could have her number and the rest is history.
John and Jessica hadn't seen each other in a few weeks because she had finals. So as soon as she was done she headed south to Charleston for some post finals vacay. As soon as she got there John suggested they take George (their dog) to the park since he had been in the car so long. They arrived and Jessica immediately became nostalgic as this was the park George and her had been going to since he was a puppy; almost 5 years and John had been with them for the last two. It started out like all the other hundreds of park trips they had been on...George jumping with excitement like a kangaroo, Jessica taking in the view of downtown across the water, John by her side teasing George with the ball. She was home! She had no clue what was about to happen next. About 10 minutes had gone by of fetch and talk when John intercepted George upon his return. Jessica took this opportunity to soak in more of the view but could see them in the corner of her eye. John was down on the ground playing with him and said "I've missed you buddy. I've missed both of you. It's been like 21 days." Jessica laughed and as she turned around she jokingly asked, "you've been counting?" He was down on one knee!
Jessica and John’s wedding is going to be amazing! They are getting married at John's grandparents old farm/plantation in Virginia!Their style for the big day is farm, vintage, simple, anthropologie-esque, laid-back, and romantic.
Jessica and John are most forward to looking at each other as they walk down the aisle, knowing that there about to start a new chapter in their lifetime together, and having an excuse to gather everyone they love together under one tent, laughing and dancing.
I am so excited to be a part of your big day!

Today I met with Cecily from Bella Bridesmaid, and she is just the best! Bella Bridesmaid is a wonderful, cute, boutique that specializes in bridesmaid dresses. They carry many designers, however Alix and Kelly and Lula Kate are exclusive designers to Bella Bridesmaid and their stuff is adorable! The wonderful thing about Bella Bridesmaid is that it continues to expand from city to city. You can order your dresses in your home city and if your bridesmaids aren’t local they can go get fitted at a Bella Bridesmaid in their home city and you can go from there! While they specialize in bridesmaid dresses they also carry ring bearer pillows from Heart Paper Soul, Letter pressed cards from Tallu-lah, broaches from the Haute Bride Collection, products from Miss Oops, and many of their designers carry men’s ties and bow ties!

As a Bella Bridesmaid bride, I can say that I had an amazing experience. I had nine bridesmaids so I was a little nervous about pleasing everyone! I went in with a vision and Cecily was able to show my bridesmaids and I various options to choose from, which made the process a lot easier! I think what sets Bella Bridesmaid apart is their customer service. It is by appointment only and they truly take the time to get to know you and your bridesmaids and what you are looking for. They always greet you with a smile and will do anything to help you and make the ordering process run smoothly. Wow Factor Cakes

Wowee Pops! They are delicious!

Last night I had the opportunity to go to an amazing event at Wow Factor Cakes. We were able to chat with Amy and other wonderful people in the industry while tasting her DELICIOUS cakes! There were various flavors to sample and they were all so good! I was able to taste red velvet, turtle, and one of her new flavors pink lemonade.
